Bergamot from Earl Grey, warmth from vanilla. Drop one into cold milk, iced tea, or sparkling water. Sophisticated without trying.
What you need
- 2 Earl Grey tea bags
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water
- Optional: 1 teaspoon honey
- Ice cube tray
How to make it
- Steep Earl Grey tea bags in hot water for 5 minutes
- Remove tea bags, let cool slightly
- Stir in vanilla extract
- Add honey if using
- Pour into ice cube tray
- Freeze for at least 4 hours
How to use
Drop into cold milk for an instant London Fog. Add to iced tea for extra depth. Melt into sparkling water for a subtle floral drink.
Why this works
Earl Grey is already infused with bergamot oil. Vanilla rounds it out. No complicated syrups, no special equipment. Just tea and vanilla.
Practical tip: Use good quality Earl Grey. The bergamot flavor is what makes this work, and cheap tea bags don't have enough of it.
