Mango Chili Cubes

Sweet mango meets gentle heat in these flavor cubes. Drop them into water, sparkling drinks, or cocktails for instant refreshment with a kick.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
  • 1-2 fresh red chili peppers (adjust to taste)
  • 120ml (1/2 cup) water
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or agave (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Two Methods

Method 1: Whole Mango Cubes (Chunky)

  1. Dice mango into small cubes.
  2. Slice chili peppers into thin rounds.
  3. Place mango cubes and chili slices into ice cube trays.
  4. Mix water, lime juice, honey, and salt. Pour over fruit.
  5. Freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Method 2: Blended Mango Cubes (Smooth)

  1. Blend mango, chili, water, lime juice, honey, and salt until smooth.
  2. Taste and adjust chili or sweetness.
  3. Pour into ice cube trays.
  4. Freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.

How to Use

Add 2-3 cubes to still or sparkling water for a refreshing drink. Use in cocktails, mocktails, or iced tea. The cubes melt slowly, releasing flavor gradually. Store in freezer for up to 3 months.

Notes

Start with less chili and add more to taste. Remove chili seeds for milder heat. Frozen mango works well when fresh isn't available. The cubes add both flavor and cooling to drinks.
